Designed for vascular specialists looking to expand their skills in venous diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, this course offers hands-on training with patients from the local communities surrounding La Romana, Dominican Republic. During your 3-day education experience you will be fully immersed in treating patients with varying degrees of venous disease -- many whose conditions are extreme and have gone untreated for years. The case load promises to be heavy, and the opportunity to see a wide range of venous disease is certain. You'll come away from this course with skills that would take a lifetime to acquire in the United States, all facilitated under the supervision of renowned venous disease experts.
Your training team is highly skilled in venous pathology, diagnosis and treatment. They have more than 15 years of experience in leading these intensive hands-on education programs in the Dominican Republic for small groups of vein specialists, cardiologists, radiologists, dermatologists, surgeons and vascular medicine physicians 2 to 3 times per year, giving them the opportunity to train alongside our team.
This course, developed by Dr. Julian Javier, was born out of his own need for a broader education in interventional modalities to treat deep and superficial vein disease, and his aspiration to bring first-world treatment modalities to his native country. The course has grown to not only be a unique educational experience, but a medical mission as well. To date, the program has trained more than 400 specialists from the US, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East, and have treated more than 4,000 patients.
Registration is limited to 8 trainees. Pack your scrubs, check the expiration date on your passport (must have 6 months of validity from return date) and lock in your spot today (approved application required) to join us in the Dominican Republic!
"The Dominican Republican experience elevated our skills/practice. The trip was a 10 out of 10. I was able to improve my current skills and then add phlebectomy and ultrasound sclerotherapy into my practice. The hospitality of the trip leaders was spot on!"
